Outstanding!! What I always wanted in a Marshall. Got 3 Channels on my tonex for live: edge crunch and drive, but only really need one since it cleans up so well with the volume knob. you guys have outdone yourselves with this one. It's getting late and I can't put my guitar down. My go-to for the foreseeable future.
I Purchase "Rex" and was blown away with the whole pack I always wanted a as near as perfect capture of a JTM45 being I'M a huge Gary Moore fan and wanted a close representation of the SGTB Album tone I added M arshall Guv'nor sim and Hey Presto Gary vibes were in the room (unfortunately not the playing) but this capture is way more than that the cleans are to die for and the Fuzz combination can take you to a whole different vibe. Absolute Magic!!

Holy cow is this good! I've said it before, but Amalgam is doing the best captures out there. The first chord I played on this set blew me away. There's something special about the high powered tweed twin and this is absolutely captured with this pack.
I spent a lot of my time looking for profiles that fit my music genre and I came across this series of amplifiers that sound so damn good for any context and with any rig you may have available.
This is my main bass tone. Miles ahead of most of the free bass captures in Tonex. I really like the thickness and the colour of this capture. It suits everything from clean funk to metal. The tone itself, I find, is quite thick and "hairy", but in a pleasant way. Some could say that it lacks a little bit of clarity, but on the other hand Marshalls are not really known for clean, pristine tones.
I really hope that Amalgam remember us bassists too! Please make similar things to this, I will instantly buy.

I was a fan of Amalgam before...highest captures quality in various and very structured file organization now with the BEAST of a high gain, the Bogner Uber Ultra. Can't praise it enough and a huge thank you to Amalgam Audio for making such exceptional packs.

The Best Worship Amp Capture I’ve Ever Played
I was genuinely surprised by the immediacy and responsiveness of this capture. From the very first pick attack, the sound felt inspiring in a way I had never experienced before. It has a beautiful bell-like, crystal-clear transparency, and a smooth, sparkling quality that almost feels like drops of water. Even more impressive, it works beautifully with every pedal I own.
As someone who plays guitar for worship in church, I honestly feel that it would be very difficult to find a better amp capture than this.
Amazing Sounding!!!
Been struggling to find some packs to show off how great Proxy can sound and this is the one! Amalgam were always my favourite for Tonex captures and have been waiting for them to start releasing proxy packs
Not for me.
- lacks true tube power amp interaction and real-time dynamics
- feels more like a static snapshot than a living amp
- pick attack & transient response noticeably flatter
- missing the “pushback” and sag of a real valve circuit
- less responsive to volume knob and playing nuance
- sounds more compressed and two-dimensional
- doesn’t match the depth of a real amp through a reactive load box with IR-based cabinet simulation
Conclusion:
Good for convenience, but not comparable to a real tube amp + reactive load solution in feel and realism.
Great captures of an amazing amp!
I've purchased way too many captures for the QC (not just from Amalgam Audio) and they've mostly always only been "just OK", but this one blew my socks off! Lots of gain available if needed but also so dynamic and cleans up amazing with the volume control on the guitar.
Too bad the captures are making me want to buy the actual amp as these things aren't cheap or easily available in Europe! Here's hoping Amalgam might one day be able to also do captures of the Carstens Empire :D
