Dead Leaves and the Dirty Ground. The 1966 Sears Silvertone 1485 is the amp Jack White used for live White Stripes work and the one that sits right behind the tones that made an entire generation reach for a guitar. The 1485 is the rarer sibling of the 1484. Same undersized output transformers, but a bigger Mains transformer that delivers more authority to the whole circuit. The result is a slightly scooped clean tone with real headroom on the second channel, and when you push it into crunch territory you get a bright, distinctive drive that is practically tailor-made for rock and alternative rock.
