One of the best vintage amps out there and criminally underrated. It will easily rival any Fender Tweed amp and has an inherent character that is perfectly balanced for Rock, Blues, Country and more.
It almost sounds like a smaller, more delicate version of a lead spec Marshall with a bit of a vintage character, while not sounding ratty as many other vintage amps can sound.
A very unique voice amp that has some VOX and Tweed Fender-like qualities with a hint of a lead Plexi in its tone. It is an amp that can get very bright, if desired, has lots of chime, if you max out the tone control.
It has a nice bright clean tone and it bulks up nicely with edge of breakup, crunch and above tones, giving a really fierce, musical and unique drive tone that is a perfect match for Rock. Takes pedals great, including fuzzes and can fuzz very musically up on its own at the end of the volume control.
This is the amp that Gibson are basing their reissue Falcon 20 amp on. And once your try it, you will easily understand why they picked this model as a reference.
The amp was tracked through the built in Jensen C12R speaker, the mics used are 2X Royer R121, 1X Beyerdynamic M160 and 1X Neumann U87.
