Our Introduction to the amp

This is the largest of the brown panel era Fenders – the Blonde Showman. It is best known for being Dick Dale’s amp, but it ain’t just a surf music icon. The tone of this monster is staggering throughout any gain range. Some of the best cleans, not just within the brown panel family, beautiful edge of breakup and a crunch tone that will rival any classic Marshall with ease.

Famously used by Dick Dale for the Misirlou tones, but it won’t be a one-trick pony for surf music – it does pretty much anything wonderfully – from cleans up to mighty crunch tones. Does it take pedals well? Oh yes! In fact it must be one of the best pedal platforms we’ve tried to date.

One of the most musical amps in our collection – easily.

The set features 24 full captures that were recorded through the Fender 2X12 cab with Jensen C12N speakers. The mics used were 2x Royer R121, a Beyerdynamic M160 and a Neumann U87. Please refer to the full list of included captures in the product photo section.
